Plan for the ACSM Health & Fitness Summit
Your health and safety are important to us. We continue to monitor COVID and other health developments across the globe and will follow health safety guidelines from the WHO and CDC, as well as applicable federal, state and local laws.
Below are the health and safety guidelines that we will implement at the 2023 ACSM Health & Fitness Summit. We will continue to evaluate and provide updates to this page as needed.
Before You Attend
ACSM encourages all attending to:
- As of December 30, 2022, CDC guidelines require international travelers to the US (with limited exceptions) to show proof of vaccination against COVID before boarding a flight to the U.S.
- Beginning January 5 there are new requirements for air passengers 2 years of age and older traveling to the United States from China, Hong Kong, or Macau, and those traveling from Seoul, Toronto, and Vancouver who have been in China, Hong Kong, or Macau in the past 10 days. These passengers, regardless of citizenship or vaccination status, are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 2 days before their flight departs. Those who had COVID-19 in the 90 days before their travel to the United States can instead show documentation of recovery from COVID-19.
- Visit the CDC website for more information.

COVID Testing
Vaccines
- We strongly encourage COVID vaccination and boosters as vaccines are proven to reduce the risk of critical illness.
- We strongly encourage you to get your annual flu shot as well to further reduce the threat of illness.
Masks
- Masks are not required, but please wear a high-quality mask indoors if it makes you more comfortable, and respect those around you who choose to do so.
- High-risk individuals, and those with family or colleagues who are at a higher risk of getting seriously ill from COVID, should consider wearing a high-quality mask as recommended by the CDC.
Healthy Habits
- Consider best practices such as avoiding shaking hands and managing traffic flow at exhibit stations, meeting areas, and product demonstrations.
